I want 20 inch rims but im not sure how big I want my tires. I really want to just get that offroad look without having huge tires on. I live in a big city so I hardly ever get to go out to any dirtroads

They make good at tires in smaller sizes. Next time I'm am going with a 275/55r20 which is about a 32.

I ran my 33 12.50 20s on my Escalade with no lift for about a week with no issues, I have a positive 18 offset. I only rubbed a little bit on the drivers side inner wheel well in reverse with the wheel cranked. Once I put my 3/2 lift with Z71 coils on it pretty much solved my rubbing issues. I don't know that I would necessarily recommend going that big in a big city type situation. These big tires are going to take a toll on your fuel mileage especially in stop and go type situations that I'd imagine you are typically in. Your tranny wont like it either, my trans temp got noticeably hotter after running these things.

That why I don't really want to get huge tires. But I like the off-road look so I only want the tires to be big enough to give me that look

I wouldn't say it's the size of the tire more of the look. Try looking at cooper ltz or terra grappler.

Another thing you should consider, off road tires typically don't have much of a lifespan on paved surfaces. A/T tires will live longer than an M/T tires, they just don't look as "off roadish". I'd check out the goodyear duratracs, they look mean but they hold up well and ride well on pavement. My oilfield trucks have run those for years, they were actually designed specifically for oil/gas workers like myself. I've gotten 30-35K out of a set on my 1 ton that pulled a WAY overweight trailer 95% of those miles.
