I've been emailing a sales rep for the place I may purchase my tire/rim package through. The line items costs are normal, but the final costs seems a bit high, what do you guys think??

B/c I'm buying the entire package all at once, I thought i'd actually get a discount...especially b/c of the powder coating (clear coat) I threw in there.

Here is the breakdown:
Mickey Thompson 17x9 - $161/ea
Pro Comp 285/70/17 - $247/ea
Wheel Locks - $65
Clear Powder Coat - $75/ea

Total = $1997

For mounting/balancing, hardware and shipping the price jumps to $2250!! Is $253 normal for shipping, plus mounting, etc??

I actually thought I would be <$2000 b/c i'd get a discount plus free shipping and mounting.

Make sure you tell them you are getting quotes from other vendors too, that should help encourage them to give you the best price they can.

yeah, I'm searching around now and will speak to a few other companies...those tires and rims are fairly common so there's no short supply of retailers.

I still keep jumping back and forth on those rims though...what I would give to find a local rim shop that actually had a decent display of SUV rims around here!!
