Tires

I have a 2010 Yukon Denali, that has 22" wheels on it, and I was wondering if someone new what size I need to go to, to get rid of the low profile tires, and get a normal side wall tire, so it won't throw my speedometer off, and give me a softer ride. I have never liked low profile tires, because they ride too rough.

285/45R22 are 32.1" tall. My GUESS:
275/70R17 is also 32.1" tall. That'd give you much more sidewall protection from schidty roads.

265/70R17, GM's OE 17" tire size, would likely be MUCH CHEAPER, though.

I've seen threads here from folks with the 22" 45 profile tire who state that the ride appears to be somewhat rough. I believe that it is a matter of personal preference, though. I have not driven a 22" 45 profile tire, but I can tell you that I believe my 305/50x20" Michelin Defender tires ride very smoothly.

Thanks, that is what I needed to know. I don't like having to buy tires and wheels at the same time. but I do like a softer ride.
