Oh yeah AR is super nice! I haven't ever compared the 2 side by side. Heck, a set of both is worth more than half of what my truck is worth.
They’re real close to the same as far as I could tell. I had a new set of Kooks for my 08 Silverado that I bought off a different forum but I would have had to hack them up to fit since it’s bagged and bodied with the engine lowered in the frame for hood clearance. There was no way I was gonna cut them up so I resold them. Looked just like my AR’s.

There's only so many ways to make pipes fit I guess. I bet the whipple enjoys the good flow.

Yeah, the Silvy has a complete custom frame from the front control arms back. It’s 2 x 4 so the body can lay on the ground without cutting the floor up but there’s not much room for exhaust. I’m thinking of buying some cheap headers and seeing what can be done. I’d be willing to risk the $300.

You get what you pay for. If you can afford better--get a different set, if not Speed Engineering will fit the bill. The fit might suck--depending on who made them that day.
I think what he was saying is that ad you said is cheap at $450 isn’t cheap- I see Speed Engineering headers on eBay for the NBS Tahoe/ Silverado going for $300 shipped all the time.

Ah, I misread. Wish I would've saw that ad--or not. Think I paid $700 with ****** header bolts and lousy gaskets. I'm actually over Speed Engineering!

Yeah but you’re talking about with the y-pipe, right? That ad you posted was just the headers themselves. I see their headers with y-pipe for around $420. But you didn’t get any deal for $700 that’s for sure.
