Last week my passenger side head gasket blew, I may even have a cracked head, I don't know yet since I haven't pulled the heads yet. I plan on pulling both heads and having them thoroughly checked and repaired if need be. This will be my first Vortec motor I'm tearing apart to fix so I just wanted to know if there are any tips or tricks specific to Vortecs that I should know about for either tear down or build up. I'll be starting the tear down tomorrow morning. It's a 98 GMC Yukon 5.7l 4wd if that helps.

Yep it was a blown HG and a cracked head right at the #2 intake valve. The drivers side head is ok, didn't see any cracks but I'll have it checked anyway, may just put two new heads on it if I can find some cheap.
