Holy bent frame batman. As bad as it looks it's actually repairable if you want to see how much it'd run you. The place where I got my preludes core support invent they had a totalled ranger that looks 3x worse than yourse and went yesterday and it all repaired just needs paint. No idea on price wise but those Asians are badasses when it cones to frame repair

Even then I'd still need a new body. You can see in the pictures where the roof has bent.

So sorry to hear but DAMN look how well that thing held up for 250K on it!!!

I know! These things will run forever as long as you take care of them. That's why I want another one.

It's nothing that can't be cut out and use good used metal. Down here if a corner is wrecked they chop that corner off a good junkyard truck and weld it on

with 251K...that truck is totalled. 75% of book can't be much. Based on KBB an 06(since I don't know the year) yukon xl, with 251k, in good shape, is worth ~8K ... so 6K will total it. That's at least that much in damage(prolly way more)- and personally- I wouldn't want it repaired after that much damage.

I done autobody for 4 yrs, and my pops has done autobody for as long as I remember. I'd just be happy i walked away, and no one was seriously ijured. Get my check, and move on to the next one.

Truck done it's job! It took one for the team!

Sorry to hear that.

I wonder what caused her brakes to fail. If you've looked under a several year old vehicle in an area where salt is used it might scare you. I lost a brake line in my 98 Olds Aurora, luckily in my driveway. When the line blew I had no brakes and had to use the e-brake to stop the vehicle from ~2 mph.

Hope you're made whole on the deal. I'm afraid of getting clobbered in one of my vehicles. I usually put a lot of time and money into replacing/rebuilding the suspensions and from experience an insurance company wants to give you next to nothing for a totaled vehicle, never enough to replace one in like condition.

Good to see everyone's OK. Wonder what damage would have been WITHOUT tow hitch (Assuming you meant a hitch ball was in the receiver?) Read somewhere having a tow hitch changes the rear end collision dynamics significantly. Just an academic exercise. Like someone else said though, she did her job and saved your life.

It's a 2000 so it won't be that much. Insurance said it was totaled, but they haven't offered a price yet.

It did have a ball on the hitch. I'm pretty sure if the hitch wasn't there it would have bent the truck even more. I want another vehicle with a frame. If it was a uni-body on the receiving end of that wreck, that santa fe would have been in the back seat or worse.

I'm truly sorry for the loss, but as everyone else is saying, glad everyone is OK! Very interesting wreck though. Bent a ton more than it crumpled. Even then though, for 60 MPH from a small SUV, you held up pretty good. I hate seeing these types of threads and pictures, but it always makes me feel a bit safer, as we see these trucks do hold their compartments well. Here's to another NBS! 2500 XL! Especially if you plan of reusing the mods you have on the front end.
