A way of checking if it is working is compare how the truck shifts when the tow mode is on and then off, when it is on it will want to stay in the gear it is in longer and more deliberately compared to when it is off, when it is off it will wanna change gears more freely and not as high RPM's, kinda hard to explain instead of showing in person, try them both there should be a shifting difference!

i did try that, i thought i noticed a difference, but it could have just been me expecting something to be different.

It's different for sure, just that the RPM's go higher before shifting, shifting will be more predictable, and it will want to hold the gear longer before shifting when it is on, it's more obvious when towing a trailer for sure!

But do what was mentioned before, check the wiring, it might be the problem!
