So, my 02 Tahoe doesn't go into tow/haul mode anymore. I rarely use it to haul things anymore, but on occasion, I will haul the band trailer or the Seadoos. It started off by working every time, then slowly not going into T/H like it's supposed to. Now, won't go at all. Trans has been serviced correctly, but just curious to see what some of you have encountered. Thx!

The wire coming from the shifter probably broke. Take the column cover off--there's no screws--pull out the knob that lets the column tilt, and pull the rubber dust boot for the shifter, out of the way. You should see 1 orange/white and 1 white wire--those are for the tow/haul switch. Trace them and make sure they're not broken.20190203_123855.jpg 20190203_130725.jpg

Note that the wire can break inside the insulation if it feels brittle anywhere and also inside the black plastic clips that it passes thru as well

if you cant find the break and need it to be working right away then just cut the wire and touch it to ground, that's all the button does anyway. (engine must be running first)
