In the finals of working with a titanium towbar, it was necessary to make a decent ball of language.
Suburban 2500 ....... came to Russia from the USA for disassembly.
On chrome on the ball is always corrosion.
Not beautiful!
I make stainless steel. But, not every steel is used for a ball of tongue.
I took a forged high alloy stainless steel wheel EI 69 (according to Russian classification) or
45X14N14V2M (no analogues)

I had no difficulties in cutting and welding titanium.
Yes! Not every stainless steel is suitable for a towbar.
But! "Steel 45X14N14V2M is used for the production of fittings and pipelines, forgings, motor valves, diesel parts and special fasteners for long-term operation ..."
I think that high nickel and the presence of tungsten and molybdenum will ensure reliability.
