How many of you tow a car trailer somewhat frequently with your Tahoe. I plan on picking up a standard open car trailer but have been thinking about going enclosed. Obviously the enclosed would have much more drag and some more weight but it has a a good amount of pros as well.

Size, Weight, info needed. The main thing you want to be aware of is your trans temp.
The trailer I was looking at was 8.5x20 diamond cargo. I can’t find a curb weight on the trailer but the GVW is 7k and I’d guess loaded it would be around 6-6500. I plan on getting the trans temp added to the cluster before I start towing.

What is your Tahoe's Gross Combined Weight Rating? You have to make sure this number is not exceeded, nor your axle's weights, tongue weights, vehicle weight and of course the weight of whatever your towing.

A half ton vehicle is going to be very close to overloaded towing that trailer. Trailer Life Magazine has an annual booklet that lists the max trailer load for each towing vehicle. Trailers can cause problems when towed with shorter vehicles (crosswinds, bumpy roads, semis passing, etc can cause loss of control). If you decide to buy a trailer, do a test drive to see how it handles. 3/4 ton vehicles would be a much better match for that trailer.
