I tow a 32' trailer behind my Denali and my trans temps never get above 200deg. if you notice the temp climbing on a grade just pull it out of OD and run it in direct. OD adds a bunch of heat when climbing or even in a strong headwind.

Thats pretty good for that much weight, im guessing ur truck came with a trans temp gauge? or did u put one in??

yea mine has tow/haul mode so i would just leave it in that mode

or can i put a scanner on it to see how hot the trans is getting?

i you really want a gauge just buy a cluster from an escalade, denali, even some of the pickup's have them. it's simply plug and play. only your mileage won't be the same.

going to tow on may 31st 4 hour drive with a 3000lb car, let u know how it goes, tranny was serviced just under 100000
