TPMS and higher pressure tires

I have a 2011 Tahoe, and with the current tires that use 35psi, all is well with the TPMS. However, I am about to set it up with a set of higher load rated tires that run at a higher pressure.

How do I tell the TPMS computer that the higher pressure is correct? I have 4 new sensors to go in the new wheels, and i i have watched a number of videos on how to get the sensors recognized by the system. But none of that seems to address the issue of higher than 35psi tires?

On my older suburban, i ran LT tires and commonly kept them inflated to 50psi when the max rating on the sidewall stated that 60psi was the limit. those tires wore well, and lasted a good time.

My new tires are also LT, they have not arrived yet so i dont know what max is on the sidewall. I would guess that i will still run at 50psi

how can i setup the TPMS to reflect this?

It can be programmed with a Tech2 or an AutoSync, and probably with other types of tuners and bi-directional scanners

I have an Accel Supertuner that i used with my old Suburban. I had planned to 'unmarry' it from the old one by putting the factory tune back into my old 2001 suburban and then being able to use the Accel Supertuner to do things like tire size mods, AFM disable, and what small performance tunes it is actually capable of. I cant seem to find an answer about its ability to alter the tire pressure setting.

I don't think 50 psi will affect it. I've run 44 psi for many years (again not 50 psi), but I would assume it's still in range as long as all 4 are matched? I do know that some sensors are set for higher pressures in the 2500hd trucks, but it may not be an issue with the older stuff

What size LT tires are you putting on?

285/65r18

I'm not absolutely sure how the TPMS system works, but I would think that the system really measures differences in tire pressure between the 4 tires, and when one pressure gets x psi apart from the others, it flags a warning message. If my presumption is correct, then it does not really matter what you preferred pressure is for the 4 tires.

As @gooffeyguy states below, it is related to the specific tire pressure selected. I stand corrected.

Nope, it's a set pressure, like 10psi drop from the set pressure.

I didn't like having the low tire pressure warning coming on at 22psi and wanted it to come on sooner, like at 28psi and had to set the normal operating pressure to 38psi using the Tech2.

If you install different load rated truck tires that have a normal operating pressure of say 70psi, you're not gonna want it to wait to warn you till that tire is down to 22psi, but more like 60psi.

The options are in the Tech2. Also have them on the AutoSync. And neither of them have to stay plugged into the OBD port to keep the changes.
