tranny issue..

6 month isn't that long of a warranty...Id rather pay a little more for a longer warranty.

i'm gonna go check out this shop, it's called Raz Automotive, they do tranny's, see what they say...... probably friday....

when i got the truck, it was down 2 quarts of tranny fluid.....it has a leak, but since i got it, i just had it smogged, and it's been sitting, until i figure out the best way to get it up to *****....

1. tranny issue
2. abs/brake light on.......Service Ride Control message
3. brakes pads/rotors (not sure if all needed yet)(i hear a squeal, no brakes applied)
4. front shocks/springs
5. wheels balanced
6. alignment

then major clean up on inside, mostly just steam cleaning carpet, and wiping up dried spills on leather........

not a bad deal for $1200, altho the gurl is a lil upset, but hey, not like i spent her money....

ok.......... just got it back from the tranny shop, gears 3 and 4 are gone........BOOOOOOOO! so either a new tranny or a rebuild....... Where can i find what a new tranny costs? hahaha, or just call the stealership? They want to rebuild mine at 2k-2500......the shop is reputable, and they've been around a LOOOONG time....i've checked them out, but yea......bummer.....

Like I have said before, 2,000-2,500 is too much for a good rebuild.

2 shops quoted me 2k-2500....... 1 shop did quote me 1695....does it matter? I have a 2000 yukon xl 2500 slt 4wd.....maybe that's why it's so high?

Looks like I'm on the same boat as you. My lower cooler line broke and leaked out all the fluid fixed that and now I have no 3-D gears. Drives fine in 1-2-R but won't shift past 2nd. I'll be taking mine in on Monday to see how much I get charged to rebuild mine and install my servo.

Just got a quote for $1,960.00 to get my tranny rebuilt. THat includes a free tow and a 12month warranty. F*CK

Called 9 other shops around here in Tucson and that was the cheapest. I guess cause it is 4 wheel drive and all.

i got a quote of 1k, free shipping.....i would just need to find someone to install...you can get 90 day warranty, or for $100 more, you can get a year...
