95 Chevy Tahoe 4x4, 6in lift with 35's and an aftermarket 4l60e monster SS transmission.
New tranny which is an aftermarket tranny temp gauge. When just going down the block they tranny will get up to 200+ degrees after about 20 minutes.

What is the ambient temp? What transmission cooler are you running?

Is the cooler plumbed up right? Fin or stack plate cooler?

Yes it's all flows in the right direction. Double checked that this morning
Just sittin at idle the tranny temp will reach 200 degrees. It is a fun platted cooler

Where do you have the trans temp gauge sensor mounted?

When's the last time you had a trans service? A flush might be needed

It's literally brand new and lines got flushed before I installed it. Had a leak in one of the trans lines and fixed that. I drained and flushed it after I refilled the tranny

Sounds like a bad pump then, thats the only thing coming to mind. Doesn't sound like its pumping fluid, which in turn would cause it to get hot.
