Hey all, 02 yuk 5.3L flex, 4WD, 130k miles. original tranny, regular fluid changes. For almost a year now, when the transmission warms up, there is a squeal anytime the transmission goes into 2nd gear. It happens whether it shifts into 2nd automatically, or manually from 1 to 2, or from 3 to 2. The squeal sounds like a squeaky chain type sound, and only lasts a second. It nearly went away during the winter, but now getting warmer more noticeable. After a long drive, when starting from a stop the shift into second feels a little odd...it shifts but seems to fully "catch" just a second later, almost like hitting a light bump. No rpm revs. The only thing I can think of that started this is trying to manually engine brake using the shift column, but after shifting from D to 3, I accidentally went from 3 to 2 (instead of 3 to D) which caused a brief fast rev to almost 5k rpm before I immediately shifted back to 3 then D. I don't know if I burned out something doing that. Man, sorry for the novel, but wanted to explain everything so someone might have an idea. Trans shop could hear the squeak but no issues found. Thanks for any info!
