I installed a larger cooler on my 2001 back around 2007 that used small pieces of hose ran between the stock lines and barbs of the cooler, with hose clamps. They're still fine 12-13 years and 140k miles later

We really need these coolers here in Oman. It is very hot and dry in summers! In 2018, I climbed a mountain and the trans. temp. reached 108 C. !!

I like watching you guys climb those giant sand mountains with our trucks, pretty cool.
If that happens just use a transmission cooler flush like this.it should be good for life so unless you abuse it or by some slim chance it developed a leak then never.
I guess I should add if you blow the transmission up and it shoots metal thru everything then I would probably replace it there only about $100-120

Weird. Here’s an Amazon link. I have destroyed 2 transmissions and the builder (Performabuilt) instructed me to use this on my lines and cooler. You just hook up one end to the output line from your trans and put the input line into a bucket. Hit the button until the fluid turns clear (all the trans fluid is out) and then turn the can upside down and it forces air through which removes the cleaning fluid. It completely flushes everything from your lines and coolers. I use 2 cans just because.
