TRANS ISSUES. Anybody had their 6L80 REBUILT?$$

OK...08 yukon Denali, 100k, A lot of the miles at 550hp (motor)..... Trans is acting up. It doesn't seem to be slipping but it seems to be "searching for gears" more. What i mean by this is, when i am cruising at around 55 and get on it to pass for example, it will get confused on what gear to pick and for lack of better words, rocks and bang a gear after hesitation. Full throttle it seems to shift good and easy driving its good. Could this be a electronic issue i.e. tune? Learning issue? Ive mentioned this to Jenna, and I'm scheduled to get BB tuned next month, being I'm running a cookie cutter Magnuson tune right now. I guess I have two real questions. has anybody had issues like this? and eventually I'm goin to have to get this trans rebuild, realistically what does it cost to have one built?

i dont think u need the trainy rebuilt those trainys are know for that issue, get it tuned

Have you checked your trans fluid level? Only reason I ask is because I just had a similar issue to what you are describing in mine. Long story short-I had to have the seal replaced between trans/transfer case(input seal I believe). I was 2 quarts low in trans and 2 quarts over in transfer case. I also had a full trans service done and now it drives great. Just a thought.....

I was quoted $1750 for a full re-build BTW

Thanks for the info. Fluid and filter was changed about 4k ago. And level is good

That's good.....maybe it is just a tuning thing then. GL.

Maybe another thing to look at would be shift solenoids in the valve body. GM used to have some bulletins out in the older 4spd designs about cracked solenoids causing bad behavior in the transmission.

my 6 speed does that at certain speeds...tune should clean it up...havent had time to scan and send out the files...from a stand still etc she does fine....
