trans problems

okie
sometimes after my truck sits (5 hours minimum) it takes forever to shift out of first. as in, i have to get it all the way up to almost 40 to shift. any suggestions would be great. oh, and i already checked the trans fluid its good and the trans is only a year and a half old.

the level is good? what color is it? what year is it? it might be a electrical problem

color is red. its a 96 and maybe 30k on the trans.

edit- im taking it to the shop i got it rebuilt at on monday to drop the pan and change the filter. they did not reccomend a flush, but thats not something i could explain very well.
