trans question

i had a friend of mine take the tranny outta my 96 tahoe, he ended up breaking a peice of the bell housing right where the bolts go, if i have this welded to fix it, will i have to worry about any probs with it? heres a couple pics of what im talking about,and a pic of the broken peice, i looked everywhere for a trans for it and havent found one, so just deceided to have this one rebuilt, but dont want to pay to rebuild it if this break will be a problem

HOLY SHIT! See what the tranny guy says. I wouldnt weld anything on the tranny exspecially where the bolts go. Trannies take alot of stress. I say replace it.

yea, thats the same thing im thinkin, im thinkin of puttin a 400 turbo or 350 long tail in, but im wondering if this will set off the check engine light since theyre not electronically controlled

Get a tune...have it turned off. But seriously 4l60e isnt as bad as everyone makes it. Got a BB tune and Justin worked wonders with it.
