I've been looking for something like that, do the coolers from the 3500 size and bigger just bolt up? Or is there a lot of cutting and modifying required to get them to fit? I've already for a 3 row radiator, the oil cooler, and tranny cooler in the front of mine. Not sure how the spacing and size would work with swapping out the stock tranny cooler for a bigger one. I'm having my tranny rebuilt here shortly and am trying to take every precaution to make sure it lasts (including having a reputable shop do the rebuild).

I don't know the specifics, but I have seem them at the junkyard. It's a little bigger and bolts up on the passenger side in front of the radiator(same as the stock cooler on your 1500). It will have a little pusher fan in front.

If I ever put a bigger one on, it will be a huge RV trans cooler almost as big as the radiator. The 3500 isn't much of an improvement IMO. You can buy trans coolers at some auto parts stores. They will be a universal fit.

I tgink the uper side fitting is acceptable as you can see the blue circles in the picture under but the problem is the cutting! You can see the yellow dots..

Tranny cooler lines to the radiator could be pluggy as well but check for a small cooler in the lower right hand corner in front of the condenser.

Nice cooler but judging by those brackets there it looks like you have the external cooler that was already there.

Don't go to big unless you relocate it. Every layer of cooler is gonna add more heat to the one behind it. So you don't want to overload the ones in the rear(radiator) unless you have the airflow to cool them or you put them in separate locations.

Where do you suggest to relocate them?

Well attached to the body or frame rails between components there should be some room on the left under body. If creative enough you can enclose them in sheet metal with screens on the openings to channel the air thru so as not to need fans. Rear under body corners are goo too. Or move your spare tire and build up a multi-liquid setup. I think you will need all you can get if you push your components hard.
