Hi there,

Trying to get the transfer case off...

I've got 5 of the 6 nuts free, however I am struggling with the sixth one. This is the highest nut, the top center nut.

I'm looking for techniques, ratchet combinations, suggestions, etc.

I do not own any stubby wrenches, but I think one would do the trick. I think a ratcheting stubby would work best. Not sure if I will have the necessary leverage to free it with a stubby.

Anyhow going to try again after work tomorrow! In the rain! :)

Thanks in advance,
Ryan

Try supporting your trans with a floor jack, and loosen the trans crossmember, then lower it down to gain access to the upper nut. If you already have tried that, then the stubby may be the way to go.
Good luck!

I did lower the tranny a bit lower then where it sat on the supporting mount..I am nervous to go too far. It seems like it will keep going regardless of how far I let the jack down. Bought some ratcheting stubbys, going to give them a whirl. No rain today!
