So In my transmission swap journey I am finally at the point of reinstalling the transfer case. I see that there is a paper gasket on the back of the transmission where the transfer case mounts. The gasket on my transmission is there but a bit torn up. Is it ok to use it anyways...can I swap it with rtv, or do I have to buy the gasket?
If I can use rtv would I just put it around the mounting surface? I ask because the gasket that on it covers more than just he mounting surface.
