Trucool 40k. Keeps my trans temps under 150 even in triple digit weather

The folks over at PT have a nice install kit that includes brackets and a compression fitting to relocate the line. It's a ~15 minute install. Just bring a pipe cutter.

Did you install your Trucool 40 with fluid inlet/outlet located on top or bottom? I have seen youtube videos that argue the cooler is more efficient if it is mounted with the inlet/outlet at the top; but Truecool shows it installed with them locatated at the bottow, like the OE cooler. I notice the kit you mention also shows inlet/outlet at bottom.

Installed mine on the bottom

The orientation is new to me. Do you have a link to something I can read about?

I watched some videos on youtube after reading about it on the web. Don't have a specific site. I just noticed more than one site mentioning it, decided to see if anyone had done a youtube video and found a couple. The reason they give for mounting the inlet/outlet at the top is the transmission pump is not strong enough to push the fluid all the way thru the additional tubing to reach the top levels of larger capacity coolers. So, they claim it runs thru only the first few lower levels of tubing when inlet/outlet is at the bottom. Don't know if that makes sense because if it doesn't have enough pressure to push fluid thru the cooler tubes to the top, how can it have enough pressure to push it thru a hose to the top of the cooler before it enters. I asked you because you are using the cooler I bought and specifically mention it lowered trans fluid temps.

I think that might be referencing bleeding air out of it

Can always aim a thermal camera at the thing and validate the top tubes are filled

The Tru-Cool site says it doesn't matter -- up, down, side.

Installed TruCool 40k with PT Bracket Kit.
Ended up moving everything over as far to the Driver's Side as possible so that I could install a pusher fan for the front of my condenser on the passenger side. With an electric transmission temperature gauge, I haven't seen temperatures go over 160 here in Florida.

Well, got back from our camping trip and I can say I was impressed with the TruCool. Held pretty constant at 150 while towing with the exception through some very steep mountain passes where I saw temps around 160.

I bought the trucool 40k with the thermal bypass. I installed the cooler but i don’t know where to install the thermal bypass. Any one got any recommendations for the best spot to put it?
