Good mornings,
I sorta posted a part of this earlier but didn't get much of a responce,
the known 2004 AWD tahoe with stabilitrack
116K on truck
Dealer saysl new tranny at 59K under war.
bought from private sale have owned for under 2 months

It was doing what I thought was called flaring under light exceleration. as I remember 2nd and 4th. even on the highway. but at the time i thought that flaring was after the torque converter is locked up.

I installed vette servo and it helped huge! doesn't do it all in 2nd. doesn't even think about do in it on the highway. but around town 45-55mph on a very throttle it still does it. the rpm will jump 75-125 rpm or so for maybe 1 second or 2 at the most. only at a really low rpm say1300 or so. when the torque is locked up. like the pump works off engine rpm to build pressure(I don't know if it does).

I changed the tranny oil and filter this weekend. Along with all the oil via pulling tranny return line method( quite nice by the way) I got some coupons going and did Max ATF from RP.

I thought about the boost valve or some of the other parts JAY has recomened . but i wasn't about to pull that off without some guidence. and I didn't really get much, I tried emailing a couple people but no response. I just kind of told the same story to Oregon Performance who I grabbed the servo from, so I'll see what they say. If its really helpfull I will cut and paste the email for ya.

Also on the first 5 mile drive after doing the service the "service stablilitrack" over the DIC came on. after 5 miles and it was up to temp I added another 2/3rd a qt to bring it up to correct fill height. typed in service stablilitrack when i got home. yuk

Sorry if this is so long. I like the truck, but I'm loosing faith in in. I need it reliable,
does this sound like a common tranny?
Did PO just drive it too long like this and its done now?
I don't want it to blow and cost me a tow too.
and I would hate to replace a perfectly good tranny because I'm now parnoid with this thing.....:emotions122::emotions122:

Let me know your direction and experience if you have ever had some thing like this please.
THanks for reading

I am no tranny expert by any means and others may be able to help in other ways, but I just replaced the tranny in an 04 Yukon for a similar issue, but his got so bad so quick that within one day it went from driving fine to not pulling itself out of it's own parking spot essentially. They didn't have to pay a tow bill but it was close.

Anyhow, consider this a free bump to the top for the morning crowd to view to get some more advice.

Good luck, hope it works out well for you.

Well its not good news but thank you. Thats the funny thing with this. It shifts great, pulls hard. I cant really burn out or power brake it with awd but to me it seams tight other then the little low rpm slip.

---------- Post added at 07:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:42 AM ----------

after reading some of JAY's old posts, I see that the 4th apply piston in the servo pack applies pressure. he had said if the oring or seal is leaking, then it will allow 4th to slip slightly and then catch.
I installed a vetter servo already, but i know it didn't include the 4th servo. I remember replacing all split seals or oring s that came in the kit. DOES ANYONE know if the 4th servo (closest to the cover) oring came in the kit???
