Hello people!
Is there a difference in filters or is it personal preference? I'm gonna be changing mine soon.

The only preference ive had was the pan gasket that comes with them. 2 different brands ive used come with a neoprene rubber style gasket 1 comes with a neoprene/quark gasket. One of the brands ive used that comes with the neoprene gasket is paper thin and i doubt it could seal a dry bottle without the use of lots of rtv let alone a transmission pan. If they bring you a filter and gasket that has a paper thin gasket tell them to give you a different brand until you find one that has a thicker gasket.

Also there are different filters. Make sure you know which one you have. There a shallow one, pan is level all across and a deep pan, has a step to it. Now might be a good time to invest in a aftermarket one that has a drain plug in it. Taking then oem one off can get

I like the remote spin-on filter adapters. I attach mine to the passenger side of the fan shroud and use long spin on oil filters.

I know a bunch of guys that reused the factory rubber gasket without a problem so i did the same and three years later no leaks. It`s much easier than unfolding a new gasket and trying to keep it in place while putting the pan back on.

In the old days we used to use very thin thread through the pan and gasket holes to keep things in line. They were cork of course, a quark is a sub-atomic particle.
