Taking the XL (stock with exception of a non beneficial muffler and tip). Stock 16s etc.

We will be taking it, with 7 people (two of those being babies in car seats) with a hard roof top luggage carrier AND 3000 pound boat. Going from flat Texas to Arkansas. Wonderin what kind of mileage you guys who have taken loaded down towing trips like that have gotten? I know once we get into the Ozark mountains the later part of the week, its going to be, well lets just say, bad. But as far as the main part getting there, wondering if i can expect 12-14? She averages 16.6 mixed in it right now, and on one highway trip I calculated it from Dallas to Austin and got just under 18 hwy only. What ya'll think?

I dont really care too much, its going to be one hell of a good time over the fourth of july weekend and week. Just curious.

I got around 13mpg with a uhaul and a full load last year. So yeah 12-14 would be a good estimate. Have a good trip!

Pulling that boat will hurt mpg quite a bit. If you got 14 mpg I'd feel pretty good about that but I'd expect closer to 10 mpg.

A couple variables that can make a big difference; how heavy the adults pack, and what kind of roof top carrier.

If the adults bring so much crap you are filling the back and the boat, that weight will add up. My friends and I used to do a lot of motorcycle racing and trips(bikes on trailer) and it was funny to listen to new people complain about what they couldn't take, until we were half way in the trip and the gas receipts were piling up.

If your roof top carrier is one of those tall old things, you will eat gas. One of my long time traveling buddies borrowed an old school tall cube, and he suffered big time (not sure on the #s, it was years ago). When my friends got to their destination, they unloaded and he took his truck for a spin nearly empty and could still feel the drag created by the carrier at highway speeds.

Its just a guess, but I am thinking you are going to be 9-12 mpg. The Ozark hills and curves will eat some serious gas, 07Burb knows, he is a MO boy. Either way, tell your friends to save the weight for gas money, and have a great trip. Their is nothing like a road trip with friends, Arkansas is beautiful. I often travel to the Missouri part of the Ozark Plateau.

its the "aerodynamic" style if there is such a thing.

they wont pack too heavy but its all family and 3 of them are women so you know how that goes. the boat will be empty of fuel or as close to it as we can comfortably burn it down to the last outting before the trip. the full tank is alot of dead weight. we like to fill up the boat once we get to wherever we are going. i'll update ya'll after the trip next month so we can all benefit from the knowledge of how piss poor fuel mileage will be hahaha

Hey if you don't have a refrigerator box on top and the women can tone down the luggage, you might not do too bad. Let us know, I am interested to know now :)
Good Luck!

actually it does matter. thats kinda an ignorant sounding statement. if i could get by with 60 bucks to fill it that would be awesome. we cant fill up for less than about 98 bucks. and the gas mileage does matter because that kinda affects how many times you have to fill the tank.
