Yep!Cases like this is when you sometimes try and take a wrench that you don't care about that much, go buy a Japanese made wrench if need be, and you bend/grind it to try and fit thru that hole and hold the nut to remove that long bolt. PITA to have to remove all that for the access.
I have a cheap wrench that I bought at a local auto parts store when I was in college that was custom bent to get at a nut on the back side of the frame to remove a frame brace so I could replace the starter on my 1983 Caprice. I sold that car back in 1996 but still have the wrench and it has come in handy more than once.
