Truck Occasionally Doesn't Start

This recently just started happening again. I used to think it was the radio drawing too much from the battery but I even took out the fuse out of for the radio and it has happened once or twice (couple months ago). I decided to put the fuse back in and keep it in (2 months ago) and everything has been fine.

So what happens is, Ill get in the truck and try to start it. I just hear the click and the hum(what I assume to be fuel pump) and thats all I hear then the hum stops after a second. I still have lights and power. So then when I attempt to jump it with my girlfriends car (2011 Jeep Cherokee), it still does the same thing. But, when I disconnect the cables from the battery and attempt to start it. It starts up.
Any ideas?
I assume this may be a starter thing? Or a bad cell in the battery?

My del sol does something similar. Lights in cluster turn on, fuel pump primes but only the distributor turns. Gotta jumo it to start. Hell my battery is still fresh it's just small. I know mine's with the battery maybe yours is aswell?

Definitly sounds like bad starter solnoid. Go under your truck next time it does this and bang lightly on the solnoid with a wrench and this will unstick it most of the time and it should fire right up. Works for me.

Starter is located under passenger side and the solnoid is the small metallic cylinder shaped thing above the larger black cylinder.

Im going to replace my starter soon but Ive been starting my truck like this for months whenever I get no crank.

that hum is the fuel pump running for two seconds to build fuel pressure.
