I took the wife's 05 Tahoe (110k miles) and got her something else. I am the original owner of it and have kept it stock. Now that I have some miles of my own on it I was debating adding a tune. It runs fine (recent tune-up) but I feel like it could use a little wake up. I know Black Bear is the predominant tune of choice but was wondering if there were other recommendations. I average 17.5 mpg mixed driving and don't want to see that go down. Not looking to race anyone. I hardly ever tow. It's a 5.3 with 4wd/automatic and again all stock. I may go with a magnaflow, never considered a CAI as there seems to be only 2 opinions: 1) It's great or 2) waste of $$.

Thanks in advance

You pretty much said your options. If you dont want blackbear, mje is another vendor on here and seems legit. I have a blackbear and love it. Its just nice to have the option to change it when i want w/ the autocal. Service is topnotch.

A cai or exhaust is your best bet other than than dropping serious dough. Thats good mpgs and i really wouldnt expect too much more. Getting just one or the other isnt gonna do any good. Its the combo of cai, exhaust, tune, headers, etc... that makes a noticable difference.

If you ask me i would do a tune and call it a day. If you want to do the others, do the tune last.

Just my 2 cents and hope that helps!
