I don't know anything about tuning but I know that when I use my hypertech and or autocal I have the option to install the tuned file or put my stock file back, I know the stock file should always be kept for instances just like this. If he went in there and somehow edited some specific files maybe he forgot something or left traces behind. @BlackBearPerf
We would not be able to speak for the other tuner, but that is correct one of the benefits of using the AutoCal is being able to go back to factory settings when ever you need to. We have not had any warranty issues to date with our tuning.

sounds like he did not have your stock file to put back in the truck

Refleshing back to stock will not keep your warranty in place.

Rewind back to 06-08 when the TBSS LS2s were eating themselves up. GM keeps time stamps by VIN in the system. IF at anytime there is new code or flashes written to the PCM without the timestamps noted in GMs database......your SOL.

IF you want to maintain your warranty, DO NOT tune it dot period. The work around is buying another PCM, have it flashed/tune and keep the stock PCM for warranty claims. This is nothing new.

This knowledge is from several GM techs and 1 GM Master tech I know

Yeah. I can’t seem to get them to extend the warranty on my 1997 K1500. They asking about any other vehicles I might own. When I mention my 2004 Grand Marquis they just hang up.
I think those guys work with those Social Security Admin guys--the ones with the indian accents named John Smith. Seems I have alot of fraudulent activity associated with my SS number. Good thing those guys always have my back! All I have to do is give them my SS#, full name and address along with my birthday. Phew, I sure am lucky they watch out for my best interests ;) Yes sir, sure do have my back.
