I have a 99 Tahoe. All 4 turn signals and lower brake lights stopped working. Hazards work. Suggestions?

Since the turn signals and the brake lights both go thru the switch in the column I want to lean there but you said lower brake lights which to me means the third brake light is working. Correct? Any recent work on this system? Suspect wiring problem but need more info. Check fuse(s).

Yes, the 3rd brake is working. I didn't think it was the turn signal switch due the fact that my cruise control, windshield wipers and squirter still work. All on that switch. Fuses are fine. The only electrical type work done recently was the ignition switch got unplugged and plugged back in and the cap and rotor just got replaced.

You got to start with basics. Check for power, ground and bulbs inspection. If all happened at once than I doubt it is either of those unless a ground under the hood or along the frame broke or came loose or is corroded. Need a wiring diagram that pinpoints what is related to all those circuits. Sorry don't have one but someone may. Did you check the brake light switch at the pedal?

It's gonna sound dumb, but did you check the bulbs and the sockets? A while back I had to replace the circuit board behind the lens on my tail lights. I'd start back there and work forward. Get a good VM and check for voltage in the wiring and circuit completion in each bulb.

I would also suggest the multi-function switch on the column. I just bought a 98 'hoe where the guy had busted the switch off. Lower 2 brake lights would not work(also cc, wipers, etc.). I could get the signals and the brights to work with a little fiddling. This switch has numerous wires running to the harness. I don't have the schematic in front of me so I don't know how the signals & brakes are wired through it; however, a quick trip to the scrap yard sorted out all of my problems. 1hr fix, tops. Cost me $15.
