TYC Headlights and DDM Tuning HIDs

so i just order new tyc headlights, ddm tuning 55watt 6000k HIDs, and new parking lights.

ordered my tyc headlights from street beat customs and turns out that they still sell the HID tyc headlights. i had already ordered all my stuff but today they called and asked if i wanted to upgrade to the HID tyc headlights. i told them i already ordered HIDs but didnt know that they had the HID tyc's. i know a couple guys said that they had them and love them but it seemed they were non existent for awhile there.

so just wanted to let you guys know that at least street beat customs has the tyc HID headlights altho i'm not entirely sure how you would order them unless they call and ask everyone to upgrade.


already got my HIDs yesterday and my parking lights should be here by sat. the headlights wont be here till mon or tues tho so thats when they will all go in. i'll have pics when i install everyting

I'm about to pull the trigger on the same combo actually. I'm going with the same headlights, TYC parking lamps from ST (found a free shipping coupon code) & DDM Slim Ballast 35w 6000K HID's.

What exactly do you mean by TYC HID headlights? Is it a HID kit? Or headlight housings specially made for HIDs?

And to anyone that can help me, the headlights linked above will fit on my 99 obs tahoe right? I'm 99% sure they will.

the TYC headlights i linked to above (which will fit your 99 obs tahoe) come with halogen bulbs. today when they called me they asked if i wanted to upgrade to the HID kit that TYC has for the headlights. i believe a member on here, atomic, has them. it would be the same thing has you doing TYC headlights and DDM HIDs except this would be both TYC headlights and HIDs

Ahhhhh ok I see. Are the TYC hid headlights cheaper then the headlights you originally bought plus the DDM HIDs?

Yeah I have the TYCs that came with hids, They just already have the ballasts mounted on the housing and bulbs in there. I think they are the same as the housings that dont come with the kit though.

they didnt tell me how much it was to "upgrade"

my first reaction was more of like dang wish i knew that before hand lol so i kind of cut him off and said i already had HIDs ordered

Hey bluebear, did you have to order the hid harness with your DDM's? And we use 9006 bulbs right?

yes its the 9006 bulb. as far as the hid harness i dont know. i've heard things both ways on the harness. i did not get it tho. i'll let you know once i hook them up if you need it lol

I've got a 99 OBS Tahoe. I was looking at the DDM 35w 5000k for my low and 55w 5000k for the highs. Anyone got pics of a obs tahoe with the ddm hids. And what was the install like? Finally, do you like ddm or would you have gone with another brand?
