Anybody have these lights? I got the crappy fleaby ones and hate them. Gonna do a retrofit, but need to purchase a set of these lights first. Anybody have any opinions, or had both projectors and give some input. Please just keep it real, and on the subject. thanks

DEPO's are fairly high-quality and easy to work with for a retro. I put TSX projectors in mine, and they use a good silicone compound that is easy to work with. I have a little write-up in the tech section if you're interested. Great light and cutoff, and it wasn't that hard to do.

Don't know about TYC and workability for a retro. Probably depends on how much of a retro you're going to do. If you're just PnP'ing an HID kit in, or doing a full retro like me.

Have fun!

Output shot with 4300K HID's in TSX projectors in retro'd DEPO. This is not DEPO output or cutoff, so keep that in mind:

hey thanks for the response, i appreciate it. PnP would never go that route, I have Matsushita Gen4 ballasts in my weak a** projectors now, much brighter but not great output or spread. Probably gonna go full retro, but for now just get the lights and go from there. Just having a hard time seeing if the Depo lights have access like the TYC. Everybody says both are great so.... If anybody has a pic of a 00-06 Depo projector headlight back(nobody shows the back of those lights, need to know if they have access to do retro or add HID lights like the TYC's do) IF ANYBODY HAS A PIC OF THE DEPO PROJECTOR LIGHTS FOR THE TAHOE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. thanks for the pic. Pic of my HID's in my Halo projectors, little close but shows how much brighter HIDs are.

Everything I've heard about DEPO headlights says they are easy to access. I didn't end up having to bake mine because the projector pretty much fit where the original DEPO one was. Taking the DEPO projector out was easy...unscrew the mounting bracket, unscrew the projector screws, and work the silicone and projector loose. They are bakeable, though, if you want to clear or paint the inside, or add Halos or whatever.

I've got pics of the process here: http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6151

They may not be the exact lights you want, but should give you an idea. If you do go full retro, when you're deciding on a projector make sure to keep it as small as you can. There isn't much room for expansion. I had to use a heat gun to soften and re-mold my washer-fluid reservoir around the D2S connector on the driver's side. It was only about an inch deeper then OEM headlights, but they didn't design any extra room in that corner. Passenger side was no problem.

I also am running Matsushita ballasts.

Can you run Denali headlights in your Tahoe?

I don't think I can put the Denali/GMC headlights into the Chevy Tahoe. I think your lights are bigger. I don't know, Does anybody know if they are interchangable? So you didn't have to take the front lense off? that must have really helped alot!! I saw your write up, very nice bro. Man, if the Tahoe Depos are like the Denali Depos, then it should be pretty easy to retro. Let me know if you know if they are interchangable, or if you had to remove your front lense? thanks for the responses man, it really helps

NP. What year is your truck? That'll determine if they are interchangeable or not. I think 2001-2006 they should work? Edit: Actually, the headlights are more different then I thought, so you may be correct that they are just not interchangeable. If that's the case, the Chevy ones are even more narrow, so you'll need to get one of the smaller projectors for a full retro.

And no, I didn't have to remove the front lens at all, which was awesome. I got those specific headlights because I knew they could be baked apart, and then we didn't end up even needing to. It just worked out, fitment-wise, with the TSX projector. No gaurantee it'll be that easy for you, though.

Looks pretty good. What do you have in your fogs?

One thing about the DEPO and most likely any aftermarket projector, is that they use a hard plastic or acrylic lens. They aren't horrible, but they will never optically be as good as a focused glass lens, either.

Yes, the Yukon lights are bigger, and as such the assemblies are not interchangeable. OEM and aftermarket Denali projectors will fit on a regular Yukon, but not on a Tahoe.
