I have a 2004 Yukon XL Denali with the under the side rear view lights. When do those light up I'm changing them with a LED blue light and I tried to get them to light when I open the door or I tried turning on the vehicle and open the doors and they still are not on. I used the unlock with the Viper security should light the inside and also the two side lights under the mirrors? I'm writing because I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the wiring because I ohmed out the light bulb and I had continuity so the light is good, then I checked the volts at the wires and I was getting 7.8VDC which is twisting my brain. Ay advice I would greatly appreciate it. Take care. Oh and I also kept the meter on it when the lights began to fade out and I still had the 7.8VDC HELP ME PLEASE/ Take care guys and thanks for you help in advance. Take care

Does the side on which the + and - lines matter because I pulled one out and the light had continuity but I checked when I turned the inside lights on and it never lit up. I checked when the lights were of and I had 7.5 Volts going to them all the time so that threw me off. I may have read the meter while the lights were dimming I don't know. I ordered of two new blue LED lights to install in to there so I hope they work fine

Onn my truck these lights come on when I unlock the doors with the remote or when I open or close the doors. With stock bulbs, polarity does not matter. With leds it does matter.

I think it might matter if you have feature enabled in DIC....exterior lighting I think is the menu option. Mine lights up the reverse, DRL's and puddle lights I believe when I unlock it with the fob.
