I have a 2023 SLT, and today was the second time the Yukon ***** off on its own. The first time my wife was driving on the freeway, it turned off, and she had to put it on Neauteol and restart the engine. Today, it shut off at a stop sign (auto-stopped was turned off) and started rolling back. I will call the dealer since this is the second time. Has anyone experienced this before?

This is a diesel? (It's posted in the Duramax section, but can be moved if necessary -- just ask.)

Soooo....you did not call the dealer or show at the dealer, the first time? Why not? Be prepared for story after story from the dealer, if the many posted problems here from other members and their newer rides are any indication. Hope you don't get the run around for a loaner vehicle.

I did take it the first time because the cameras were also not working. They told me they needed to update the software‍♂️

Ok, I need to get this straight. The truck died the first time and after that you took it in to the dealer because cameras were not working and you said nothing at that time, about the dying engine, correct? Because when you say they needed to update the software....was that for cameras or the dying? You do not say.

In my mind you are saying the first dealer visit was only for the cameras and the dying is never mentioned, even while at the dealer anyway. But now a second visit will be done for the dying.....correct?

Please, in the future, please tell ALL info in chronological order and exactly why and the results. I am not drinking either, I do not drink, but your steps are confusing.

No worries. The cameras first started failing when I put it in Reverse. The backup camera or the front camera wouldn't work. It wasn't something that would happened everytime but maybe weeks apart. Then, my wife was driving on the freeway and it shut off. I called the dealer to set up an appointment and told them that the truck had shut off while my wife was driving on the freeway. I also mentioned the cameras and that's when the service member told me it needed an update. I took it in and they said they didn't find anything but updated the system anyway.

When it stops running, does the electrical die as well, or is it just the engine? This is reminiscent of an issues the LB7, LLY, LBZ. LMM, and LML's used to have when the housing the filter mounted to would get a hairline crack and air would get in, causing a loss of prime. My BIL had a LLY, we were going camping, both pulling 5th wheels. Before we left he mentioned every now and then, out of the blue, the engine would stop running, like you ran out of diesel, but would restart, he said the stealer couldn't find the issue. We made it to the campground, which had a 4 mile 10% grade just before the tirnoff, went up it no problem at all. On the way home, on I5 in the Central Valley, his truck dies, he starts it back up, keeps going. We get home, Monday morning I ask my mechanic, he said check the fuel filter housing, if anyone overtightened the filter, probably has a hairline crack, he said you won't see any diesel residue. My BIL picked one up, replaced it, never had it happen again. I would check the seal on the fuel filter, or just replace the filter, comes with new gaskets. On the filter housing cap, most don't know it's there, but if you look in the center of the borrom of the housing, where the 36 mm socket is used to loosen and tighten the filter housing, dead center is the Water in Fuel drain, it uses a T40, most don't know it's there, but that is what that is for. If you get a Water In Fuel sensor code, that is where you drain the water out of the filter.
