Upgrade '16 Denali to HDMI input from '17 models?

I would be very interested in a part number

or video on how to do this installation.

I was curious about this so when I was at the dealer for service asked the parts manager to look up the part from 2017+ with HDMI. I didn’t get a part number because he told me the price from GM was ~250 I believe which was not worth it for me at this time. Also was unsure if it would be plug and play.

there has to be a way too convert this..... the center console charger was a new charger and different plug and it was good to go

It has to be plug and play but maybe lose the additional usb and or sd slot. We already know that Blu-ray player is connected to my link via HDMI or similar proprietary cable. This leads me to believe that the 2017 module will plug and play directly. I will order part soon and try it out.

Not plug and play, just checked. 15-16 board and it only has one mini usb port.

I read his post. I should have used the term workable instead of plug and play. The head unit already accepts digital signal(ie Blu-ray player) so therefore there is no need to convert the signal using a DAC. The 2017 board has one extra usb and what appears to be a 6 pin connector instead of a 12 pin like on the 2016 board. I am positive we can make it work but may have to sacrifice a USB. I will find a solution.

I wonder if anyone else is working on a solution. It really is weird they didn't have an HDMI connection years ago... I use an iSimple converter to go from RCA Components to HDMI. Works fine. I use the WiFi hotspot in the car, an Amazon Fire Stick, and I power the Fire Stick with the 110V outlet, although it also seems to work fine powered through the USB port on the back of the center console in my '16 Yukon Denali, even though those USBs only put out, at MAX, 1A, I believe.
