I have installed second battery (parallel dual) with the factory cables.
Also installed a 220A alternator. Stock setup is a 145/160 amp alternator, with a 175A fuse.
Sounds like I'm supposed to add a larger fuse (250A?) but am worried the battery and alternator cables maybe too small?

What if I wire a SECOND CABLE from the alternator to AUX battery with ANOTHER 175A fuse?
The batteries (+) would then be connected through both the starter and alternator cables.
Alternator could output full power if needed going through two 175A fuses.

I know many upgrade the battery cables, but with two batteries/cables, I'd prefer to leave it stock if one or two extra cables can achieve the same thing. (I like the stock battery terminals)

Or will this create radio noise or other problems, or just not work like I am thinking?
I love reading about modifications. But please, tell us why do you want all that electrical power?

Want the ability to power anything you would typically plug into a house outlet. looking at a 2000-3000 watt inverter.

i recently upgraded my stereo, running a separate battery in the 2nd battery location under the hood. I also have a 300 amp h/o alternator. It's always been my understanding, that most times its the wire itself that limits the flow. (having melted some wires in my time). I ran all 1/0 pure ofc copper line(s) grounds too. i replaced all the factory grounds under the hood with either 4 or 8 gauge ofc as well. I have appx 2000 watts of power. running some led light bars, the electric is rock solid. Lights never dim. I credit most of this with the grounds replacement. Because it was the last thing i did... some of the grounds under the hood suck to get to, i noticed the greatest improvement. :2cents:

Right on, will try and do grounds first! Might be awhile before I really out a load on it. Have a light bar, getting some ditch lights. Planning for a compressor hookup and an inverter.
