I am about to buy this. I am having a shop install my Pioneer 4100 NEX.. will they also need this GM5+ Harness for the install or no?

I am having a shop install a 4100NEX on my 07 tahoe with no Bose later this week. I am looking to retain my steering wheel control and like what I have read about the iDatalink Maestro Rr...
my question is- do I HAVE to order the GM5+ wiring kit with it or will the shop easily able to make it work without it?
