I have the SLT Roof Rack on the Yukon XL but would like to eventually go to the Denali style, has anyone made this swap and know what is needed and what is not needed when switching over, I am hoping I can retain some pieces and hopefully it all bolts up the same way.

It's very easy, you just remove the bolts holding your existing one and put on the new one, bolt it down. You can even use the same bolts, the new one ends up using less. It's my most favorite mod done to my Tahoe.

Yeah alot of people do that on here, but you may have to find your Part numbers on your own because most here have the 2000-2010 Tahoe, Escalade or Yukon which all use the same part number for the "Esky roof rack" as we know it, also the above models rack is alot shorther than what you will need (which equals different part).
The Esky EXT rack is the shortest one, yours is the longest.

It would have been better if you sold it to me like I wanted!!:emotions122:

Haha Modded back then it was scratched up! I had to buy the whole right side and front crossrail on my own. Shit I wanted it for my Tahoe too, I got a lot of free Denali stuff for mine. :D

David if you get it installed we'd be glad to see some pics.

Haha Boss you do need a good nap!
The part numbers you gave him would be right if he had a regular Tahoe or Esky, he has a Yukon XL so does don't count for him.
Also GM started selling the rails and covers as a whole kit per side, so really he only needs two part numbers, and not all those that you posted.

I'm looking to remove the stock roof rack from my 2009 Tahoe and install the escalade roof rack. I don't use the rack ever, but I like the look. Does anyone have any pictures of this mod and can tell me what parts are needed and if the install is easy and matches up to existing holes in truck? Also if possible can you let me know where you purchased the roof rack? Thank you

I will do some searching on gmpartdirect.com then and see what I can come up with, thanks for the info. At least I know its accomplishable and just basically involved bolting the new one in the spot of the old.

GM parts direct sucked for this! I ended up paying my dealer to do the swap. You will have to get the ends painted to match your truck regardless. I'll try to get pics posted tomorrow. The part numbers were :

25996380 "rail kit"
25996381 "rail kit"
15838222 "rail", 2 of these
15916756 "plate" , 4 of these
11609900 "bolt" , 10 of these

Total was $661 dollars and they comp'ed me the paint match on the end caps that come grey and installed it all for an hour of labor. One of the best mods I've done. Anyone need a brand new stock roof rack cheap?
