Yeah thanks for the info I surely would have made some bad mistakes and not known where to start without everyone chipping in their words of wisdom

For 25996380 & 25996381 they are $219 each, for 15916756 it is $10.04 x 4 from the dealer with no discount. However I have negotiated prices with them before and will do so again or at least try when I get the extra money.

I found a roof rack salvaged from an '07 Denali XL that I'm thinking about getting for my '09 Yukon XL. Only $100 for the whole thing!!! End caps are even already painted white, though I'm not sure that will match our diamond tricoat. Just to make sure though, the cross rails are still black, only the side rails are chrome? And an '07 will fit an '09, right?

Yep, you've got all of that correct. I *think* there may be chrome cross rails available out there (I'm pretty sure I've seen them shown in an online GM catalog), but I've never seen them in person. And you can't see them very well on the truck, either.

At $100 for the whole thing, you're way ahead of the game, even if you have to get your caps repainted. Go for it! (Just make sure that you also get the hold-down "nuts" in the middle of the rails. And, on an XL, you may have more than one a side. Not sure about that, but just make sure you get all of the hardware.)

GM parts direct sucked for this! I ended up paying my dealer to do the swap. You will have to get the ends painted to match your truck regardless. I'll try to get pics posted tomorrow. The part numbers were :

25996380 "rail kit"
25996381 "rail kit"
15838222 "rail", 2 of these
15916756 "plate" , 4 of these
11609900 "bolt" , 10 of these

Total was $661 dollars and they comp'ed me the paint match on the end caps that come grey and installed it all for an hour of labor. One of the best mods I've done. Anyone need a brand new stock roof rack cheap?

Wow that is so expensive! I actually bought my roof rack (off an 00-06 esky) from carcrz on this forum for 150+ship and my paint guy painted all four end caps for 40$ total. The chrome was in MINT condition and end caps were sanded and repainted so all in all. The hardware WAS included, but I used my existing bolts/hardware with the rack. I also do not have the cross rails because this is purely for looks and I don't ever plan on actually using the roof rack for storage on top. I got a tahoe because of the large cargo area.. anyways I thought this mod was WELL worth it and also one of my favorite mods.

Yea KMel you are right that is pretty cheap especially for an XL/Burb rack. Yea those chrome cross rails are on ebay for 194+15 ship too... but i'd just get the black stock ones.

Theoretically it should since my 08 tahoe has an 00-06 escalade roof rack but I couldn't say first hand...
