The cig lighter is a 15A fuse and the Power Outlet is a 20A. Separate fuses. If both fuses are good, its probably something with the shared ground. If you have a power outlet in the console as well, and it turns out it is a ground issue, that one shouldn't be working either.

First thing to check is continuity to ground at all 3 sockets with an ohmmeter.

The schematic shows all three sockets having a ground splice and then terminating at ground stud G200 in the upper right dash area.

Will do in the am. I checked with a test light in connectors no power.. I see the harness disappear into the dash but can't find where it runs into. Maybe a connector somewhere came undone

everything worked fine. I took door panels off replaced speakers now they dont work.

I'm having a similar issue. I have two ports in my Tahoe, the left one has ceased to work, but both fuses are perfect. The right side however blows the 15 amp fuse whenever i use my compressor to blow up a tire. I installed a new deck in the truck over a year ago and I'm wondering if that hasn't affected this, maybe an incorrect ground?

My question is has anyone found a resolution to the left side going out even with a good fuse and secondly can I change the 15 amp fuse for the right side to a 20 amp to keep it from blowing?

Try this. Turn your headlights to on instead of auto, and try your cigarette lighter.... Mine only works when the headlights are switched on. It has something to do with the power being shared between outlets
