Been quite busy with 2 of the three trucks as of late.

One of my donor 9.5 rear axles has broken parking brake mounts and they are discontinued with no luck finding replacements. I do have two axles I can scrounge parts from if necessary.

Upper dash trim panel, the one on top under and against the glass has seen better days, the vents have cracked and been falling away over the years. A new GM one is about $300 and Dorman has one for about $72. Part number 926-336. Great reviews on Amazon. Came in today and opened it up, part looks great, well made and accurate with reinforcements underneath.

I'll try to remember to take photos when we install it next week when it's not raining.

In addition to the good online reviews, @pwtr02ss has that Dorman piece with a new dash. IIRC, he basically said (not verbatim) that you'd have to really study it to tell any difference. I think there's only a slight color and grain difference. Not a $228 difference.

Grain is pretty well spot on. Color is ever so slightly off. Not enough to bother me

link/pn? nm it was there
replaced whole dash and thought that piece was fine...turned out it wasnt
I bought on eBay at the time because it was a few dollars cheaper. I did the same as you. Replaced the dash then realized the tabs were broken on that piece. Plastic welded the tabs back on and it broke again in a few months. The rattles drove me nuts. $70 was an easy fix

Is the dorman part just a dash cover??? Like lays over the original cover ??
Or is the actual top dash piece that you totally replace ????
