Have to disagree. Acceleration and throttle response has GREATLY improved with this CAI kit on both my '08 Silverado 4.8 and 01 Suburban 5.3. Gonna order it for my Esky also

The throttle "Sound" is much noticeable in my Suburban. I LOVE IT !!

did you have a clogged filter or something? There really isn't a noticeable restrictions in the factor setup. Maybe 5 HP? That's not going to make a big sotp difference. You eliminated the Helmholtz resonator and the corrugated rubber section and installed a hot air intake in its place.

Oiled filters can ruin mafs
Only if you way over oil them or use a cheap oiled filter. I have run them for years with zero issues. My Whipple supercharger came with an oiled filter for my stock filter box and if anything is gonna pull oil through and mess up a MAF it would be a supercharged engine. That should tell you something, that even Whipple disagrees with that theory.

Possible ??? All I can say my throttle response is VERY notably different after the CAI upgrade

My 01 Suburban had a paper filter and it ran great and does better with that CAI. But my 08 Silverado 4.8 had a drop in K&N filter and had HORIFFIC acceleration/throttle response and the CAI upgrade made a HUGH difference with pedal response

I said "can." I have run K&Ns in the past with no issues, but with dry reusable high flow filters available I choose to run those now.

Thanks for the link to the $50.00 cai intake.im sure i wont gain any power but it sure looks alot better. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SGJ9JCF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The filter it came with looks fine to me not oiled and seems solid.I will check out other ones if i see a problem with it.I am interested to see if any mpg improvement at all.It does look like its 4 inch inside diameter i forgot to measure the length and width of the filter. Now i have to find the hose holder that pushes in to the aluminum runner mine broke the *** on it.
