Hello all new to the forum. I own a 01 Tahoe with the 5.3 4x4. Great truck love it! Here is my issue and please every one throw your ideas at me. This vibration I have started about three weeks ago. Back then I only noticed it at around 65 mph. About a week ago it started happening around 35-40 mph then go away then began to vibrate again around 65mph. Currently it vibrates at all speeds but more so at the afore mentioned speeds. Here is the strange part. It only vibrates during acceleration. If I let off the gas the vibration leaves. Which leads me to think tourqe converter or tranny or rear end. So please guys n gals let me know what ya think n please ask questions.

Cheapest thing to start with would probably be new u joints.

I second the u joints. Front output driveshaft. I couldn't tell mine were bad until I removed the shaft. They were froze up. I procrastinated too long and ended up ruining the output shaft bearing on the transfer case. That was expensive. It spun in the housing. Had to replace the whole transfer case.

If you feel it in the floor board then that's it. Before you remove the front driveshaft try to wiggle it to make sure there's no play in that bearing on the transfer case.

Update: wow guys the u joints that were in there were factory. 16 year old u joints. Now that's some performance! Any way after watching some videos I attempted to burn out the nylon pins and got lots n lots of the nylon stuff out of each hole which lead me to believe I had gotten it all out. Well after several hours of heating and beating I finally got them out of the drive shaft. One side in the very rear was completely destroyed. Looking directly at it instead of it being round it was shaped like a stop sighn. No pins in the cap what so ever. Vibration is now gone! Thank you all for your tips!
