If the belt was slipping it would squeal like a pig.I have seen many alternators on motorcycles charge great at low to mid speeds but loose power at higher RPM's.

I have seen/heard this on motorcycles (not my own), I can't remember what the explanation was, but it ended up being the stator or coils (essentially the bike's alt).

My 06 Denali sometimes show just over 14V and sometimes it is right at 12V. I have no explanation, I tried shutting off lights, heated seats, etc and was not able to make them change. The is variance is not affected by RPM or anything I can find. My friend is going to hook up his scan equip while we drive and check actual output. He thinks the dash gauge might be flaky. I have no charging, starting, etc problems, but want to make sure.

This is what I am thinking the problem is. I might try replacing the alternator then.
