Agreed, the whole experience was a nightmare. He messed up my mileage the cluster is damaged and now this.
Never do business with GM Gauge specialists.
I’ll swap it out ASAP but with three kids it’s in the back burner.

Just make sure when you get a 2005 model, you get one that matches your vehicle. I do cluster repairs all the time so if you need help just PM me.
Steering wheel model clusters are different than base models. IE: If you get a base model it wont allow your steering controls for gas and all the advanced options on the steering wheel to work. The volume up and down and seek for radio will work. Also some clusters have programming for an extra brake booster module and other odd things. If you don't have steering wheel controls then you can pretty much get an 05 cluster from a Silverado, Tahoe, Yukon, escalade, etc and won't run into any issues other than when it first pairs and pushes to BCM. You may get some service 4wd on DIC and change engine oil blah blah initially but they will all clear.
I would be willing to bet 99.9% its an 03/04 cluster they gave you. I see this all the time when people swap clusters.
