So can we do a DRL when the the ignition is on? No matter if it is daytime or not? Seems as if a relay was added to the lights to activate them when the key was on it would not matter if it was daytime or night time. Any thoughts?

Yes.

Go to the DRL relay at the underhood fusebox. Get underneath it to access the wires.

Light Green/Black gets permanent ground.

There are 2 dark blue wires (one for each bulb). Cut these, and wire them over to an ignition 1 wire. Since you are beneath the fusebox, any of the dozens of pink wires underneath there are ignition 1 wires.

OmarR, thank you. So just cut the dark blue wires (1 for each DRL) and wire them into a pink lead. No relay? And ground out the light green/black wire. Sounds easy enough.

Correct, no relay, because you are simply using the existing OEM drl relay and re-wiring it so it works the way you want it to work; in your case, it would be having the drl's on all the time, day or night.
