Is there a kit that I can order that has the correct filter and fluid, or do I need to get it all seperately?

Have never seen a kit like that. Dexron VI for the fluid and a quality trans filter kit from RA. I was able to get them both at Amazon when I ordered mine.

How many quarts of fluid is needed? And did you use the "disconnect cooler return line" method to pump some out before dropping pan?

I have a drain plug on my pan so it was all drained before the pan was dropped. You can buy those pans to be able to do that. I bought 2 gallon jugs of AC Delco Dexron VI and added as needed. I think I used close to 5-6 quarts. That is a guess. I did not flush because I had no problems before and did not want to chance the clutch material being blasted with all new fluid. I have heard of and seen when that problem occurs.

Dealers can be a finicky bunch. Find a local qualified independent shop that you like and stick with them. I have never had any work done at a dealer, in over 40 years, unless it was a warranty.

I would like to add a drain plug, like my 2003 had. Do they make a pan with a drain plug, or is it a mod only ?

If it’s your 2012, I believe you need 6 qts. This is based on what I found in my research as I am going to be doing this soon.
