I'd also say a clogged sunroof drain as well and highly doubt your Esky rack has anything to do with the problem........

Thanks JZ. That makes sense since I couldn't imagine the bolt holes for the rack running into the vehicle. I found this for a 2006 z71 and the rear drain goes right down the pillar where I'm describing the leak is coming from.

You could try blowing some air thru there via a compressor but I would not go full blast with it. I also believe that there are nutserts that are welded to the roof and that is what the mounting bolts attach too-at least it was like that on my Envoy when I took the rack off-I can't imagine the Yukon/Tahoe being any different. Best of luck. Report back.

Yeah, I'll have the dealer handle it since its under warranty. This isn't mine but exactly what it looks like.

Is this what you're referring to? I just want to be able to rule out the roof rack as the culprit before taking it to the stealership so they don't try to blame it on the Esky rack.... You're saying there isn't any way for the water to go thru those "nutserts" correct?

Yes that is what I am talking about. I can't say there isn't 'any' chance of water getting in......I wouldn't even tell the dealer about the rack-they prolly won't even notice its different. Also, you could remove that trim piece to see where the water is actually coming from.....

Macho, what was the outcome of this??

I never took it to the dealer because it stopped. I did re-torque down the roof rack bolts.

Recently I had a member confirm (who pulled the headliner) that the holes are open and lead directly to the headliner. So it COULD have been the rack. The issue hasn't happened at all since.

This is just a guess-- but I'd say something to do with a seal or the drains around the sunroof?

Lake Tahoe

Macho, just noticed this with my '09 Tahoe. We got a lot of rain this weekend (Friday and then Monday). Saturday my wife opened the rear right door and a stream of water started pouring down and out the bottom inside corner of the door. So much water that I thought my wife had spilled something. It drained for a good 10 minutes or so. Then last night after Monday's all day rain, I could hear water swishing back and forth in the roof on the right side. Just ran it over to the Chevy dealer so they could here it before it drained and made an appointment for next Tuesday (its under warranty). Interesting thing is that this was the only thing I saw on the Carfax when I bought it. It was brought in for service to unclog the sunroof drains. Service guy suspected it to be that same problem and he swore he could here water in the dash. Going to stay on top of this and after next weeks service appointment I may run a garden hose over the roof to see if it happens again. Going to stay on top of this before it becomes a bigger problem.

How did you make out with your truck? I'll post an update next week after my service appt.:waytogo:
