Looks like the box you need for the chimes when you put in an aftermarket radio.

Nope

It's a AUX box that hooks to the radio to give you iPod hookup. uPAC-GMC2

This box has NOTHING to do with any codes that would pop up.

Do you have the OEM (factory) stereo installed or an aftermarket?

If it's the OEM radio, you need to make sure all the factory plugs are plugged in.

If it's aftermarket, you have to have a box (kinda like that one) to get the steering wheel controls to work again.

checked the connections again everything looks good. i even removed the PAC and still doesn't work. I noticed a couple of taps inder the cluster near the steering column not sure if they are supposed to be there or not.
